Edge Supply Chain Conference & Exhibition
Education was in top form at The Edge 2022 Conference in Nashville, TN, where three days of non-stop activity were kicked off with an excellent keynote from Mandy Rennehan, Founder of Freshco.ca (the “Blue Collar CEO”), who spoke about being yourself in the world of business (often a challenge!). After a day of fantastic educational opportunities and networking events, Day 2 opened with Tom Szaky, Founder and CEO at TerraCycle, who spoke about “Changing the Landscape of Waste”—I never knew recycling waste could be so interesting!
Among the many great sessions, I particularly enjoyed the Woman Leaders Forum which included a roundtable discussion with five very successful women in the industry who spoke about everything from government involvement in the supply chain to the best use of technology. In the breakout learning sessions, I heard about REI’s new 700,000 sq. ft. DC in the Nashville area, listened to “The Future of Warehousing” (I felt right at home at that one), and learned how Owens Corning transformed their logistics to create huge savings. On the downside, there were so many sessions each day that it was a challenge to choose.
I also enjoyed the many networking opportunities, my visits to the exhibition hall, and the offsite events—especially the evening sponsored by Nashville-based Geodis that included good food, drinks, live country music, and a tour of the new Nashville SC Soccer Stadium. In all, Edge 2022 provided the ideal mix of learning, networking, and activities. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event and Verity’s growing involvement in CSCMP and Edge.
